I did not need more piano information. I needed piano to become useful.

I wanted piano to work more like music already worked in my mind.

I originally wanted to play guitar, but my fingertips hurt. Piano seemed like the better path, so I studied music and received traditional training.

I learned notation, theory, exercises, and the formal way piano is normally taught. But it still did not feel like the practical accompaniment instrument I wanted.

Years later, someone showed me how to approach piano through chord music. That simple shift changed everything. Instead of trying to play every written note and melody, I could use right-hand chords and a single left-hand bass note to support a song.

Piano finally became useful for singing, worship, songwriting, and making music with other people.
